Capstone Turbine Corporation Names Eastern Joint Marine Services as Its Distributor in Hong Kong
CHATSWORTH, Calif., June 23, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, has named Eastern Joint Marine Services (Far East) Ltd., as its distributor in Hong Kong.
Eastern Joint Marine Services, based in Hong Kong, has been involved in a variety of projects over the years, including manufacturing and sales for portable waste compactors; design and build of various pieces of equipment for use in waste transportation services; and emergency repair and pollution control for ships. The company has experience working with Capstone microturbines. In 2007, it served as project manager and oversaw installation of two Capstone C30 biogas microturbines at a waste-transfer station in West Kowloon.
As a Capstone distributor, the company will sell and service low-emission Capstone microturbines that produce 30 kilowatts to 5 megawatts of clean and efficient power for Hong Kong landfills, wastewater treatment plants and agriculture/biogas operations.
"Landfills, agricultural operations and wastewater treatment plants produce substantial amounts of methane gas that are normally flared or just released directly into the atmosphere," said Jim Crouse, Capstone's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Capstone microturbines use these waste fuels to produce reliable, clean-and-green electricity that can power lights, computers and other operations. In addition, the microturbines' efficiency increases to over 80 percent when used in a combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) application, because the microturbines' waste-heat energy is captured and used to heat domestic water supplies, provide building heat and cool water for air conditioning."
"We're extremely proud to sell and service Capstone turbines and microturbines in Hong Kong," said Daniel Ho, Eastern Joint Marine's Owner and Managing Director. "Air pollution created from methane gasses at landfills, wastewater treatment plants and agricultural operations can be extensive. Capstone turbines and microturbines can use those waste gasses to create clean and reliable electricity."
