Reports To: VP Operations

Purpose of the Position: This position is responsible for actively participating in designing and implementing a variety of supplier quality control processes and systems to ensure a robust supplier selection, certification, assessment and verification program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in establishing and maintaining Quality Assurance standards for Capstone suppliers. These standards shall adhere to Capstone Supplier Quality policies and ISO regulations to ensure that appropriate products and services are provided.
  • Responsible for the quality of products manufactured at external manufacturers.
  • Act as facilitator in resolving supplier and procurement related issues.
  • Develop and implement, in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing, supplier development and part certification programs for new and existing suppliers.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality tracking system with appropriate metrics and reporting systems.
  • Review suppliers purchase orders for appropriate quality requirements flow down.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct audits, surveys, and inspections.
  • Support company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity.
  • Manage suppliers using the Capstone Supplier Corrective Action Processes
  • Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing quality procedure to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and report on supplier quality-related activities to verify quality system, product and contract, or purchase order compliance.
  • Participate in first article inspections.
  • Ensure that suppliers document and maintain an approved quality system to meet the appropriate company or customer requirement.
  • Represent the company with suppliers to ensure that suppliers’ manufacturing and Quality System, special processes and products meet purchase contract requirements and applicable regulatory and government regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Approximately 25% travel required; a small portion of the travel is international.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and 14001 requirements.
  • Demonstrate high level of computer literacy – proficient in developing Excel spreadsheets, utilizing word processing and databases, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, make presentations and write concise reports for all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrate analytical/technical aptitude evidenced by 5 or more years of successful experience in quantitative role.
  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring, teaching skills.

  • Able to read blue prints and drawings.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years supplier quality, 4 years quality related experience.

OR

Equivalent combination of education and management experience including supervision can be substituted

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an analytical role.
  • Purchasing and/or Program Management experience a plus.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support operations by developing and optimizing manufacturing methods for new and existing designs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine appropriate manufacturing methods for turbomachinery and related components, including new designs and modification of existing designs
  • Work with suppliers to incorporate the best manufacturing methods into the design and eliminate quality manufacturing issues
  • Assist Operations in dispositioning discrepant material and insuring engineering intent is met in the manufacturing process
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure capable stable process
  • Generate the supporting documentation (i.e. drawing, engineering changes, layouts, engineering reports, test plans, specifications, PFMEAs, Control Plans, )
  • Generate design solutions for turbomachinery components and development test rigs
  • Lead procurement and initial test of prototype hardware and rigs to validate designs

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be computer proficient with 3-D CAD, Catia V5 preferred,
  • Indepth knowledge of metals manufacturing methods, machining, forming, casting and forging for components used in gas turbines.
  • Knowledge of other manufacturing methods, controls, assembly, and balancing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage within the constraints of multiple priorities.
  • Strong communicator; possess excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a “can do” attitude, as strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and demonstrated personal ownership and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills coupled with a focus on results and data management.
  • Practical experience implementing lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SME or BSIE required

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Supply Chain Manager is in charge of overseeing and facilitating the smooth movement of materials throughout the production process, with a focus on managing the Purchasing and Production Planning & Control teams. Collaborative efforts are directed towards achieving complete customer satisfaction and optimizing performance in material costs, inventory management, and maintaining accurate and feasible schedules. This involves balancing personnel staffing and making efficient use of corporate equipment and assets. Develops methods, establishes standards, and implements procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Ensures seamless coordination among the teams under management.

Successfully executing this role requires an individual to possess a thorough and proficient understanding of the Materials Management body of knowledge. This includes a mastery of essential terminology, concepts, and strategies related to demand management, procurement, supplier planning, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, performance measurements, supplier relationships, quality control, and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulates and documents processes, maintaining comprehensive department procedures.
  • Presents Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and recommendations for monthly reporting to the Management Team and Senior Management.
  • Manages financial aspects and individual costs related to parts/services.
  • Supervises the entire supply chain, encompassing business terms, relationships, audits, contracts, and performance evaluations.
  • Leads initiatives to minimize inventory expenses while upholding satisfactory levels of quality and service.
  • Oversees all facets of the department, managing Capacity, Work-in-Progress (WIP), Finished Goods Inventory, Lead-Time Reductions, Utilization of Personnel and Equipment, and ensuring On-Time Delivery.
  • Develop, oversee and track supplier rating system to improve cost effectiveness and reduce defects/late deliveries.
  • Supervises all inventories and conducts analysis utilizing tools like cycle counting, ABC analysis, financial reports, aging, and obsolescence assessments.
  • Takes charge of coordinating mandatory physical inventory audits.
  • Ensures prompt and confidential resolution of high-priority issues.
  • Handles sensitive data at the highest organizational levels, maintaining strict confidentiality of corporate information.
  • Conducts visits to customer and supplier sites as deemed necessary.
  • Implements strategies for engineering changes, production modifications, or new product launches to facilitate seamless and orderly transitions in material and production flows.
  • Oversee team of 5-7 associates.
  • Supports management by assisting in other duties as assigned.

  • Must be computer proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles: sheet metal processing, electronic controls, make to order products.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Responsible for moderate to complex technical documentation tasks and projects with either writing or editing focus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, develop and maintain reference documentation (e.g. manuals, procedures, technical specifications, presentations, proposals, etc.) used by customers or staff.
  • Translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
  • Work with other departments to produce a wide variety of technical publications.
  • Interview subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written ext, and coordinate layout and material organization.
  • Research information such as drawings, design reports, equipment, and test specifications to fill any gaps.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Must possess excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Must demonstrate technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and components.
