DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: CFO

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for all aspects of IT operations and services for Capstone Green Energy Corporation. Specifically, the Director is accountable for the delivery of mission critical SAP and non-SAP application capabilities, network services, data center operations, SOX compliance, managing the IT technical team, and strategic planning for the effective use of technology to support business plans.

The Director will ensure information technologies are evaluated for their relevance to aiding in Capstone’s achievement of its business goals, and ensure appropriate information technologies are effectively implemented. The Director will work closely with other company executives, present and communicate the vision of IT to SLT, and operate as a senior level manager in the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish strong internal business partnerships with Department VP’s, and maintain the enterprise applications roadmap defining the implementation of SAP functionality across Order Management, Materials Management, Finance, and Production Planning.
  • Serve as the technology advisor to senior management in identifying areas for business process improvement for operational efficiencies and increased productivity that provide a return on investment.
  • Present to the Senior Leadership Team, to articulate the IT vision, strategy, and application capability roadmaps.
  • Direct the IT team to be a high performing organization through performance management, providing guidance for skillset development, and technical and organizational leadership.
  • Continuously evaluate all data center systems for improvements and effectiveness, with the goal of delivering a standard cost effective computing environment.
  • Ensure IT operational processes are based on ITIL best practices for successful annual SOX audits.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of security tools, technologies, and procedures to combat cyber security threats.
  • Managed vendor relationships with suppliers of server operating systems, database technologies, backup and recovery solutions, storage and server hardware, and outsource partnerships. Drive in long-term contract negotiations as needed.
  • Design and implement Disaster Recovery (D/R) plans and capabilities, and perform periodic drills to ensure D/R readiness.
  • Create and manage the IT Budget.
  • The above is not all inclusive and may include additional tasks as requested by management.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & EDUCATION:

  • 7+ years of experience in a senior IT Management or Director position in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience providing SAP technical or functional leadership.
  • 3+ years’ experience in relational database technologies (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server).
  • 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Sharepoint or Project Server farms.
  • 2+ years of administration of Enterprise Storage Solutions.
  • Solid technical comprehension and hands on experience across the following technologies: TCP/IP networking, Microsoft Windows based client and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, and Network Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to create a teamwork environment consistent with company culture and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce new technology to improve business process efficiency to support achievement of corporate goals.
  • Able to build and articulate a vision, and move an organization towards that vision.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Manage Cyber Security Environment.
  • Demonstrate solid negotiation skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree of Master in Business Administration.

DEPARTMENT: Quality

REPORTS TO: Quality Director

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Plan, implement and monitor quality assurance activities to ensure product meets or exceeds requirements and customer expectations.  Provide leadership in statistical problem solving to implement corrective action and error prevention.  Leadership, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail are essential.  Needs to impact overall quality by working collaboratively with personnel from other departments at all levels. Possesses an understanding of complex manufacturing and assembly environments in an ISO-based management system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, maintain, and report component and product quality information metrics to measure manufacturing or supplier performance.
  • Develop and execute plans for quality control to ensure manufacturing process continuity and product conformance.
  • Provide support and instruction, as needed, to Quality Inspectors and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Operate as a communication conduit to Capstone’s supply chain partners, receiving, reviewing and processing waivers and deviations through approved processes.
  • Coordinates implementation, compliance and maintenance of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Participates on Change Control Board (CCB) as required to assure Quality objectives are met.
  • Leads Material Review Board (MRB) inventory to review and transact non-conforming material as suitable.
  • Plans and implements Advanced Product Quality Planning on new product designs.
  • Performs/participates/directs cross-functional failure analysis investigations to respond to internal failures and customer complaints.
  • Leads root cause investigations via the 8D Corrective Action process, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests, as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and monitors contributions by other departments, customers and suppliers, as required, to ensure corrective action implementation.
  • Performs or supervises the performance of quality audits.
  • Supports development of workmanship standards required for manufacturing.
  • Provide Quality support to other departmental activities as necessary for business operation continuity.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office products and, preferably, Minitab
  • Experience operating within an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Ability to utilize statistical problem solving methods
  • Ability to perform internal quality and process audits
  • Knowledgeable to some extent in one or more of the following systems:  power or control electronics, mechanical, turbo machinery, fuel supply, packaging or software.
  • Ability to maintain positive relations with colleagues, clients, and vendors to accomplish quality goals and objectives.  “Team Spirit”
  • Knowledgeable in or experienced with Continuous Improvement, Business Process Re-engineering, Six Sigma, DOE, APQP, D&PFMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, TQM, Gage R&R, Control Plans, Supplier Development
  • Able to read and interpret drawings (GD&T knowledge) and specifications, applying sound reasoning to job duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
  • ASQ Certification (Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with ISO 9001/ISO 14001.
  • 4 years Experience in “hands-on” manufacturing problem solving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
