Distributor Spotlight: Ingeniería y Soluciones en Proyectos Globales S.A. (ISPG)

May 2, 2022

Tell us a little about your organization’s history/story—how did it get started, who was involved and why was the business pursued?

ISPG started as a spin-off of an engineering company specialized in piping systems for off/onshore applications. The company was founded by Antonio Balic, who saw a lack of engineering and technical support from some of the distributors of technology equipment in the region. The company initially represented and supported many brands. However, when Mr. Balic's son, Cristián, took the helm, the company took a more strategic approach and decided to define and specialize in one brand to provide higher-quality local service.

Recognizing the growing shift toward clean energy solutions in the evolving energy market, Mr. Balic soon partnered with Capstone Green Energy to better serve the energy needs of their customer base in Chile. As a brand and company, Capstone fulfilled every expectation with its highly reliable power generation equipment. In addition, Capstone provided complete technical and commercial support. Something ISPG has struggled with in the past with other power generation technologies.

ISPG has focused all its resources on selling and servicing Capstone technology in the last few years. This bold new action allows the company to provide its customers with lower energy costs, increased resiliency and lower emissions.

What region(s) do you serve?

ISPG is the authorized Capstone Distributor for Chile

Are there particular industries or markets that you serve?

We serve every market and industry and specialize in the oil and gas segment.

What are the key services you provide?

Engineering for projects development (structural, mechanical, process and electrical), sales and service for Capstone Microturbines.

What are some energy goals your customers typically want to achieve? How do you help your customers achieve them?

Capstone’s innovative decarbonization solutions and technology allow our customers to lower their operational costs and above all, ensure the power reliability they need to support day to day business operations. As an added benefit, Capstone’s products also help preserve the environment with a near zero emissions profile.

Why did you decide to become a Capstone distributor?

Capstone’s commitment to green technology is what attracted us to the company. At ISPG, we know that technical knowledge and client trust are at the core of any well-established company in the green energy field. Capstone has the advantage in their established distributor network that allows us the tools to provide the highest quality products, services and customer experience possible.

What do you wish companies understood better about their energy-related needs?

It is essential that companies begin to understand that switching to sustainable energy can not only mitigate unforeseen problems, it can also be an area of opportunity for their business.

Do you have a favorite project/installation you could share?

Yes, the C30 project in the national petroleum company (ENAP). It is a smaller project in terms of energy but is remarkable because we’ve been able to upgrade ENAP’s gas production operations in a remote installation with severe weather – especially in winter. With this project, Capstone technology not only enables ENAP achieve its energy goals but also helps the company to reduce their emissions and reduce their use of fluids (oil and coolant) hence making their production cleaner.
